Erin Dinan - Running Coach

Erin Dinan has been coaching competitive distance running for the past 17 years. She is the Women’s Head Cross Country Coach and middle to long distance Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field coach at Ithaca College.

In her tenure at Ithaca, Erin has coached 7 national champions in the 10K, 5K, and 3K. She has developed 23 All-American athletes under her training and coaching plans. The athletes she’s coached currently hold 11 school records at Ithaca College in cross country and track and field. And as of 2022, one of Erin’s former athlete holds the NCAA All-time best 5k time at 16:05.36.

Erin has also been a competitive runner herself starting since high school where she was competed at the NY State Championships. In college, she ran for SUNY Cortland, under Coach Jack Daniels and was on two national qualifier cross country teams.

Erin studied Psychology in college and understands both the mental and physical dynamic of competitive running. Her athletes benefit not only from her expertise in training but also her ability to connect, empathize, and understand the mental pressures involved in competitive running.

A mother of two, Erin has successfully run through two pregnancies and is eager to beat her personal best half marathon time of 1:31:56. A resident of Ithaca, New York, she enjoys annual running events like the Corning Half Marathon, the Boiler Maker in Utica, and various local 5k’s.
